Profile: Our Company - Message from the President and CEO

Welcome to Kraft Foods International's website.

In the last decade, through hard work and acquisitions, Kraft Foods International has more than doubled its revenues. And now, we are approaching an even more exciting time for our company.

Our parent company, Philip Morris Companies Inc. recently closed on its acquisition of Nabisco Holdings Corp., which will be integrated into Kraft Foods, Inc. On a worldwide basis, the new Kraft Foods with Nabisco becomes a $35 billion revenue company, with $5.5 billion in operating income, based on 1999 proforma combined results.

We look forward to making Nabisco part of Kraft Foods International. And, we look forward to continued growth. But, we are never complacent, only motivated.

When you fly from Austria to Australia and find Philadelphia cream cheese leading the dairy shelf on both continents -and served on your plane trip- you witness first-hand our ability to offer food products that succeed on a global level.

When you buy a Suchard chocolate in the same Swiss town where it has been sold for 175 years, you realize the extraordinary staying power of our brands.

When you discover that a well-known name like Nabisco has become part of the Kraft Foods family, you understand that our breadth of brand offerings is always expanding.

Behind these wonderful brands will be approximately 56,000 people. They are the backbone of our company. I am truly honored to be leading a team of such talented professionals. They are focused, passionate about our work, and always seeking new ways to satisfy our consumers and customers.

We also believe in being responsible to the communities in which we operate our businesses. Hand-in-hand with our parent and sister companies, we have worked to fight hunger, improve education and support cultural activities. We frequently have been on the scene of natural disasters and humanitarian relief efforts.

The food business is challenging. We need to stay in step with changing consumer tastes and stay two steps ahead of competitors. We continue to succeed because all our people have taken the task to heart -- working together, across time zones and country borders -- to create convenient, high-quality and delicious foods. Yet, I believe our best days are ahead.
